Thousand Burnt Offering

1 King 3:4-5

The king went to Gibeon to offer sacrifices, for that was the most important high place, and Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar. 5At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon during the night in a dream, and God said, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.”

MESSAGE

1. The king went to Gibeon

There is a place where the King go. The king must move, Must leave the present place and move to another place.

Have we stay on one place/situation and never move on? It is time for us to move, to change our present situation and move to another situation.

2. to offer sacrifices

Why we need to move our change our position? the reason is to offer sacrifices. 

3. Gibeon - the most important place

To identify the place where we need to move/change our present situation to another situation is look for that most important place in our life. That place/situation is a place for us to offer sacrifices, the place of our worship. For me, that place would be my school, I must serve well. What would be the most important situation in my life? My Job, this is my Gibeon, my place where I can glorify God through actions.

4. Solomon offered thousand burnt offering on that altar

This word caught my attention: to offer thousand burnt offering.

How many sacrifices should I make? How many sacrifices I ever made? there should be thousand. Thousand of burnt offering. imagine how God was glorify if we have offered him thousand of it. I believe that I should be offering thousand of worship in a place where I can worship God. THOUSAND THOUSAND of worship

5. At Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon

Expectation: God would would reveal himself in that place.

6. Gd appeared during night in a dream

As we worship God, God reveals himself. This happened 

a) at night, when sufferings are present, 

b) the time where dreams are still on the hand. 

7. God said "ask for whatever you want me to give you"

The Lord cares for our desire. He is willing to give whatever we wanted to have.

APPLICATION

1. It is time to move to a  place where  i can worship God. That place right now is the place where I work

2. Offer sacrifices in that place, Offer Worship to God not just one but thousand of Worship. Thousand of actions that would glorify him.

Thousand of worship refers to:

-lessons everyday

-students interest, cares

-respect to others

-everything I do should be done to glorify God

3 Expect God would appear in those situation specially when in trouble/suffering. God would be there saying "I care, I can help you, what do you want me to give you"

God will be helping me to accomplished everything. at this moment just trust God
